EDITS DECODED

A PODCAST FOR WRITERS, BY EDITORS

Hosted by Jaime Dill & Lindsey Keeley

Hosted by two fiction editors, we bring you live industry expertise in developmental and line editing so that you can decode the edits that make great books.

Every episode, we read a submission from one of our listeners and discuss feedback, both positive and critical, so that you can get a behind-the-scenes view of how editors think and why we make the suggestions that we do. Regardless of where you are in your writing journey, you’re sure to hear tips that will help you self-edit and decipher similar feedback you may hear from others.

Lindsey Keeley

Lindsey Keeley’s editorial career began in the 1st grade, when she wrote her first “long” story of 10 pages. Ever since, she’s found solace in the written word, whether reading, writing her own stories, or endlessly studying the craft of it. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism in 2008 and garnered over 15 years of experience in copywriting and editing, proofreading, and building brands’ social and email channels through words, graphics and video.

In 2024, she jumped into her dream of working in the book world and opened Scribbling Crow, Ink, where she is primarily a freelance developmental editor for authors in all stages of their writing careers. She’s interested in all fiction, but especially loves fantasy, romance, paranormal, speculative, historical, upmarket and mystery.

When she’s not writing or editing, she’s a mom and wife who enjoys plants (both indoor and outdoor), coffee, and crafting, including a stint at running her own massage candle business for over 4 years.

Jaime Dill

Editor-in-Chief of Full Mood Mag and owner of Polish & Pitch editorial services, Jaime Dill has been writing, publishing, and assisting writers in their journeys since 2016. Following her Bachelors in Creative Writing, she released her debut poetry collection, I Remember Us, then curated Byline Legacies, an anthology featuring the work of over 30 authors.

Her freelance clientele includes traditional writers, as well as self-publishers who have been honored with accolades from institutions such as National Indie Excellence Awards and American Writing Awards. While Jaime works with a wide range of genres and authors, she is most passionate about neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ voices and incorporates those personal experiences in her editorial approach.

When not editing, she’s a mom and wife who knits like it’s her second job, rescues kitties, and geeks out over art history.
